10-29-2009 In a reversal in the chairman department word has it that Shokri Ghanem has been reinstated as NOC chairman. Ghanem had submitted his resignation in mid-September and the NOC had went so far as to appoint Ali Seghir Mohamed Saleh as the new chairman. "Reinstated, and no other comment," Ghanem told Reuters. Ghanem's return will probably bring a sigh of relief from IOCs in the country as he had always been viewed at a reliable partner in a somewhat ambiguous Libya. No reason was ever given for the Ghanem resignation and it is unlikely a reason will ever be given for his return.Source: Libyaninvestment |
