GPC Secretary receives credentials of new ambassadors

The Secretary of General People's Congress received in Tripoli on Wednesday the credentials of the new ambassadors of Thailand and Turkey to Libya.

Present in the ceremony were the Secretary of the External Affairs of the General People's Congress, the Secretary of Cooperation Affairs of the GPC for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation and the Director of the Committee's Asia and Australia Department.

Thailand's new ambassador handed his credentials as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary with an address where he conveyed greetings of King Phumphona Adunyadet of Thailand to the Leader of the Revolution, Chairman of the African Union.

"Opening of Thailand's embassy in Libya and my appointment as the first resident ambassador represents a new chapter in our relations, and I would like to assert Thailand's conviction and desire to promote solid relations for the interest of both peoples,'' he said.

Thailand's new ambassador expressed readiness to exert all efforts to promote friendship and cooperation relations between both friendly countries.

For his part, the Secretary of the General People's Congress welcomed Thailand's new ambassador and wished him success in his tasks in Libya.

The Secretary asked the ambassador to convey leader's greetings for the King of Thailand and wishes of progress and prosperity for the people of Thailand.

"I would like to take the opportunity to convey greetings of the Leader of the Revolution, AU Chairman, for the King Phumphona Adunyadet and his wishes for the people of Thailand of progress and prosperity," the Secretary said.

The Secretary expressed keenness to provide all the facilities to the ambassador to enable him fulfill his tasks to fullest so as to promote relations between the friendly peoples.

Turkey's new ambassador presented his credentials as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary with an address where he conveyed greetings and appreciation of President Abdullah Gul, of the Republic of Turkey, for the Leader of the Revolution and wishes of progress and prosperity for the Libyan people.

Turkey's ambassador praised the historic and solid relations and cooperation between both countries.

"I confident of the potentials to progress relations between both countries, and I assert that I would exert monumental efforts for the duration of my tasks to promote and strengthen relations between our countries in all fields," the ambassador said.

The Secretary of the General People's Congress responded by conveying leader's greetings to President Abdullah Gul wishing him everlasting health and happiness and wishes of progress and prosperity for the people of Turkey.

"The depth of the historic relations between our countries demands us to work jointly to promote and strengthen relations in all areas," the Secretary said. "We are looking forward to cooperation to propel the march of bilateral actions and coordination in the regional and international organizations, especially the membership of both countries' in the General Secretariat of the Islamic Conference to serve world peace and security".

The Secretary of the General People's Congress expressed keenness to provide the facilities and assistance to Turkish ambassador to enable him perform his tasks to fullest and wished him success in his tasks.
