A meeting, chaired by the Secretary of the General People's Committee, was held in Tripoli on Monday to follow up the developmental programs for port and maritime sector.
Present in the meeting were Secretary of the GPC for Communication & Transportation, Assistant Undersecretary of Infrastructure Affairs of the General People's Committee, Assistant Undersecretary of GPC for Planning & Finance, Secretary of the Management Committee of Port & Maritime Department, and a number of department Directors and experts and specialists.
Conferees reviewed the situation of Libyan ports and plans laid to re-habillitate and develop their infrastructures to help their performance in the trade, tourism and services areas.
They also discussed legislations governing ports and the body was charged with preparing fixed time work programs to assume its sovereign role in Libyan ports.
